9 years ago, we wrote the first draft of a Cabana menu on the back of an envelope.
It was the start of a crazy journey: we opened our Stratford and St Giles restaurants with a week of each other; we saw the London Olympics, the World Cup in Rio, we launched pop-ups in Covent Garden and the South Bank, we released two cookbooks (and an accompanying YouTube channel!). We saw more Cabanas opening up throughout the country (and yes, sadly, saw some close as well).
Which is why our hearts are so very heavy as we announce that will be putting the pause button on all of our non-local restaurants: Westfield London, Wembley, The O2 and St Giles: during the current uncertainty surrounding the spread of COVID-19.
The safety of our teams and our guests is our top priority at this time, and we believe this is the best decision to protect the most vulnerable amongst us.
Our Westfield Stratford will remain open for Delivery and Click & Collect, so if you are really craving your Malagueta fix, we can highly recommend you head that way!
It has brought us such joy to see our restaurants bustling over the last 9 years; to see our teams bouncing about the tables and our pool of friends grow. Community is at the very heart of Cabana, and we want to take this ‘pause’ as an opportunity to thank you all for your love and support over the years.
We will be back, better and stronger than ever, and when we do, we will be ready to open our doors to you with open arms and full hearts.
See you very soon,
The Cabana Team
